Nurse turns 'gynaec' to run abortion racket

Ex-hospital staffer with no degree caught red-handed performing illegal procedure in Bavla guest house
What began as a nursing job in a hospital ended up turning into a full-blown illegal abortion racket for Hemlata Darji from Dholka. She posed as a gynaecologist and carried out abortions without a medical degree before being caught red-handed on Monday whilst performing one such procedure inside a guest house room in Bavla town.
A joint team of Ahmedabad Rural SOG and Bavla health officials raided Room No. 105 of Panama Guest House following a tip-off and found Hemlata in the middle of an abortion. The woman undergoing the procedure - believed to be in her 30s - was rushed to hospital.
