The Gujarat High Court on Wednesday conducted a daylong hearing on a petition challenging the remission granted to Aniruddhsinh Jadeja (in picture), a prominent political figure sentenced to life under TADA by the Supreme Court for the 1988 assassination of sitting Congress MLA Popat Sorathiya. After hearing detailed arguments from advocates for Jadeja, the Sorathiya family, and the public prosecutor, Justice H D Suthar posted the matter for a final hearing on Thursday, asking sharp questions about the validity of the state's decision to grant the early release.
