Ahmedabad families reuse visarjan soil to make eco-friendly Ganesh idols

A quiet but significant green trend is taking root in Ahmedabad this Ganesh Chaturthi. Families now no longer let previous year's Ganesh idols simply dissolve and disappear after visarjan. Instead, many are collecting the clay left behind, and handing it over to idol makers who then use it to craft new idols for the coming year.
