Seven streets given names from the natural world
Accrington Observer
|June 06, 2025
THE seven streets in a newly-built housing estate near the M65 have been given names from the natural world.
The roads on the 89-home Chancel Gardens development in Mount St. James, Knuzden, near the Hyndburn and Blackburn border have been approved by councillors.
The estate is for a mix of two, three and four bed detached, semi-detached and mews properties of which 20 per cent are affordable houses.
Warrington-based Seddon Homes developed the 8.35 acre site which is 1.1 miles from Junction 6 of the M65.
On Wednesday, May 21, Hyndburn Council's special Street Naming Committee approved the new names.
They are Poplar Drive, Willowbank Close, Fernwood Close, Brackenridge Close, Foxglove Close, Maplebrook Close, and Hazelcroft Close.
