Rishton extend their winning start at GH

IN the Lancashire Cricket League JW Lees Division 2, Rishton made it two wins from two games as they enjoyed a 65-run win at Great Harwood.
Batting first after winning the toss, Rishton made 220-9 from their 50 overs, Richard Fox, 46, Adam Hussain, 79 and Keiren Grimshaw, 34, all batting well. For Great Harwood, Will Armer took 6-47.
Thikshila De Silva's unbeaten 62 for Great Harwood and a knock of 40 from Jack McGovern gave the home side hope, but too many feel cheaply and they were all out for 155 after 34 overs, Afaq Ali Sartaj best with the ball for Rishton with 4-46.
Enfield were edged out by four wickets at home against Colne.
The home side won the toss and batted first, making 234-6 with skipper Promod Maduwantha leading the way with a knock of 90. He formed a 180-strong partnership with Tiarnan Hammil, 94, to anchor the innings.
However, Colne openers Kenton Rhodes, 72, and Ismheel Shakeel, 51, got the visitors off the a strong start in their reply and with Geeth Kumara, 33, and Sam Tillotson, 24, providing useful contributions, Colne reached the target in the 50th over.
Rawtenstall were comfortable winners when they hosted Church & Oswaldtwistle, triumphing by 101 runs at the Worswick Memorial Ground.
The home side batted first upon winning the toss and made 216 from their 50 overs, A Fernando the stand-out performer with 104 while R Shafiq’s 24 and D Naveen’s 19 came in useful, as did a strubborn stay at the crease from Harry Etchells - he only hit four runs but hung around for 46 deliveries. M Bhadad was best with the ball for Church, claiming 4-57.
Church openers C Fergusson, 24, and S Holt, 28, put on 39 for the opening wicket but after that wickets fell regularly, only M Bhada with 25 causing any problems for the Rawtenstall attack, for whom man of the match Fernando followed up his century with 6-36.
Finally, Nelson beaten East Lancasihre by seven wickets.
