Neighbour says Reds' problems are 'all their own fault'

A RESIDENT who lives near Accrington Stanley's Wham Stadium has said the club’s financial problems which led it to shut its academy are ‘all their own fault!

The householder contacted the Local Democracy Reporting Service as a row over the closure and the removal by Hyndburn Council of the premises licence for its 1968 Lounge and Coley's supporters bar hospitality complex for events rumbles on.

The authority has offered Stanley £140,000 to keep the academy at the club operational for a year following the club's announcement it would be closing the resource for aspiring young players. But club chief executive Warren Eastham said the 'kind gesture' would not solve its long-term financial problems partly caused by the ban on events and amplified music at the Livingstone Road ground's hospitality suite which was built in contravention of its planning permission.
