Wales finish with a flourish

WALES secured a bonus-point win to make it four from four and top Pool C with wing Louis Rees-Zammit grabbing a hat-trick.

Warren Gatland’s side will face a quarter-final meeting with either Argentina or Japan without Taulupe Faletau who went off with a broken arm and the Kiwi head coach will this week be sweating over the injury sustained by Gareth Anscombe.

Fly-half Anscombe was set to start but pulled out during the warm-up due to a groin injury, promoting 22-year-old Sam Costelow to start at 10. No.8 Faletau went down clutching his arm in the second half.

Gatland said: “I don’t know about Gareth Anscombe. He’s got a tweak in the groin while doing some kicking before kick off. We will assess that over the next 48 hours.”

Wales needed just a point to top the pool but with extra motivation to inflict revenge on a Georgia side that handed them a defeat last November, Gatland’s men scored six tries.
