URCHINS HIT THE BUFFERS AT CHATS

CHATHAM Town breathed new life into the Isthmian Premier by inflicting the first defeat of the season on leaders Hornchurch.

Two goals in seven minutes from veteran striker Chris Dickson and Ashley Nzala sealed the second-placed Chats victory and cut the Urchins’ lead to five points.

The visitors do boast three games in hand but this proved to be Chatham’s day.

After a well-contested opening 45 minutes, neither side would break the deadlock by half-time.

Jamie Yila did have the ball in the back of the net after Jack Evans played him in at goal with a wonderful defense-splitting pass, but the flag was up for offside and it remained goalless.
