MARK BURKE’S Hitchin Town took part in a club quiz on Thursday evening – and they’re getting the answers right on the pitch too.

The Canaries have built on a strong finish to last season to put themselves in the early play-off mix in the Southern Premier Central Division.

Sitting fourth ahead of the weekend, long-serving boss Burke couldn’t be more pleased with the platform they’ve given themselves ahead of the festive period.

“We finished last season really strongly,” Burke told The NLP. “I had to defend the approaches for our players from other teams and, luckily, everybody signed back on. And I was able to add a couple as well to strengthen the squad that finished last season.

“So I was confident we could build on last year and use that as a platform to be higher up the league than we finished last year. We finished mid-table but you’re always looking to progress.
