ANDY WHING says he is 'living the dream' in the Solihull Moors dugout - but admits fantasy land still seems light years away.

Local boy Whing is enjoying the perfect start to life at Damson Park, unbeaten in his opening 12 matches as Moors boss.

Whing led Banbury United to the Southern Premier Central league title in 2021-22 and couldn't resist the opportunity to return to his home city of Birmingham and replace Neal Ardley in the hotseat last summer.

His positive start has given loyal fans a welcome pick-meup after last season's annus horribilis, which saw the club finish in the bottom half of the table on the back of reaching the play-off final the previous year.

Now the locals believe that a place in the Football League might not actually be beyond the realms of possibility, but although Whing is delighted to see the feelgood factor return to the terraces, he is too long in the tooth to get too carried away.
