VIR DAS's memoir reveals the person behind the smiling mask of a stand-up comic

Comedian-actor and now author Vir Das admits it feels strange to be writing a memoir this early in his career. This reader was surprised, too, given he is in his 40s and is still very active in both industries. The book's release is fitting, as it coincides with Das making his big-screen return, that too in the director's chair with Happy Patel, a spy comedy produced by Aamir Khan. The biggest sell for The Outsider is that the comic finally opens up on the impact his YouTube special 'Two Indias' had on him emotionally and professionally. Labelled a traitor, he lost shows and eventually had to shut down his company, Weirdass Comedy.
