Manero Double Peripheral Tourbillon-Carl F Bucherer's latest limited edition timepiece combines supreme technical finesse with striking style
The Luxury Collection
|Volume 9 Issue 4
In the world of precision horology, Carl F. Bucherer is the acknowledged leader in peripheral technology, holding patents on a peripheral winding system as well as a floating tourbillon in a peripherally supported cage and a peripherally guided minute repeater regulator.

The new versions of the Manero Double Peripheral Tourbillon that the brand launched this March showcases this peripheral prowess, if one may coin a term, in full. The watch is presented in three declinations with just eighteen pieces of each. They are available in distinctive blue, green, and purple finishes, which the brand says are inspired by the dynamic symbolism of blue skies in the city, the restorative feel of its green spaces, and its sense of unbridled optimism channeled by the color purple. In recent years, CFB has been taking a more daring approach to its colour palette and these three timepieces push the envelope just a little further.
Pure Freedom of Expression
At a glance, these high-saturation aesthetics lend the pieces a unique energy, aimed at watch aficionados who want to express themselves, confidently and unapologetically, without compromising on technical mastery. This look, feel and spirit also fuels CFB’s own ongoing evolution, Exploring Time.
The dial features multiple formations of miniature pyramids, creating a new and unique “three-dimensional guilloche” effect. These patterns were galvanically refined before being coated in a semi-transparent colored lacquer which concentrates pigment in the “valleys” between each pyramid. The combination of these innovative processes results in an elaborate dégradé effect that makes the dial almost shimmer as it catches the light. In addition, the dial’s 11 indices mark out the hours with 0.6 carat vvs baguette-cut diamonds, creating extra sparkle.
