Singing, dancing and acting alongside Hugh Jackman while performing Neil Diamond's biggest hits? Kate Hudson well and truly found her dream movie role in Song Sung Blue! “I have always loved music. I love singing and I love songwriting,” Kate, 46, tells New Idea.

“But I love acting too, so getting to combine the two is just the best. I couldn’t ask for more.”

Based on a heartfelt true story, Hugh and Kate play real-life Milwaukee couple Mike and Claire Sardina, a mechanic and hairdresser who channel their love of Neil into a tribute band.

New Idea sat down with Kate in Los Angeles during Song Sung Blue’s recent press tour, where she says she found Claire and Mike’s story “so special, incredibly moving and inspiring”, and that she feels “privileged” to have had a hand in sharing it with the world...
