India’s wedding industry has now emerged as a multi-billion-dollar behemoth with path-breaking transformations led by the country’s massive hospitality sector. Usually, the budget of marriage in the upper strata of society crosses the INR one crore mark these days, and destination weddings mean a completely unique experience with a long list of fringe features. From hyper-personalised services and wellness integrations to eco-conscious planning and tech-enabled coordination, the hospitality sector is now a critical driver in shaping the future of Indian weddings.

1. Exponential Rise of Wedding Industry: According to recent estimates, India's wedding industry secured over ₹4.7 lakh crore of revenue in 2024, and it continues to show robust growth in 2025. The country hosts over 30 lakh weddings annually, with a significant percentage shifting towards destination-based celebrations. The Indian government is also quite confident about the future of the wedding industry in India and offers many favourable policies to catalyse the growth. Of late, Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy remarked that due to its immense potential to bolster the tourism and hospitality sectors, India could emerge as a prime wedding destination.
