From Shuddh Desi Romance to Shamshera, how would you describe your journey in Bollywood so far?

I have done projects which are quite distinct from each other. But still with every film, I feel like it is my very first movie. As an actor, you have to start all over agaian for a new role with a new character, fresh energies, a set team, everything! It is definitely a learning process and still continues to be one. I am only gathering experience and getting to know the industry better.

In each movie, you have played a different genre of role. What’s the process that goes behind preparing for each role?

There is no set process that I have per se, but I do feel like that I should incorporate and understand what a director is expecting of you, whether it is to garnish your character or a set layout. You just follow the path. But at the end of the day, you have to work equally hard for all. The only thing that stays consistent in it is conviction.

How each movie has its own essence, but sometimes a movie doesn’t match the expectations of the audience and critics. So how do you, you know, cope up and how do you get ready to bounce back to your next project?
