THE OMEGA SEAMASTER Planet Ocean is a significant cornerstone of Omega's modern dive watch offerings. It harkens back to the watchmaker's rich maritime heritage beginning in the 1930s and the original Seamaster's introduction in 1948. Launched in 2005, the Planet Ocean began as a more robust and professional diving instrument compared to the Seamaster Professional 300M. It established itself immediately with a substantial 600m water resistance. The design often draws inspiration from the early Seamaster models of the 1950s with features such as Arabic numerals and clear minute tracks. But it also embraces contemporary sizing and cutting-edge movement technology. The range is often one of the first Omega lines to feature the Co-Axial escapement and later the stringent METAScertified Master Chronometer movements.
