LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. It’s usually dismissed as cliché until it blindsides you with such force that you realise the old saying was only ever shorthand for inevitability.
As I step into the leather-bedecked, amber-lit domain announced by the glowing ‘Horatio’ sign, I feel myself falling for its visual charms in real time. Even before I take a seat, the thought flashes across my mind: I can picture the boys and me here. Then bar manager Kim Salvador hands me my favourite cocktail, a Paloma - one he personifies as a stridently feisty woman named Pamela, turning heads in a long red dress. I like him already.
Horatio first claimed my eyes. At that moment, it entered my heart.
Though resplendently deluxe, Horatio exists for the savouring of the moment in utmost intimacy. The world, and its fuss and noise, quietens itself within this abode. What lies within Resorts World Sentosa's Crockfords Tower is no mere cocktail bar, but an elaborate stage play of spirits, textures, and tales. A whisky-forward den wrapped in sepia intrigue and traveller's swagger, it is designed not just for satiation but for immersion. The conceit—Horatio Fairchild, fictional bon vivant, restless voyager, and raconteur— is not just branding. He becomes your unseen host, beckoning you to follow his trails across the world’s distilling landscapes.
A first glance welcomes rare bottles glowing like relics, menus whispering like diaries, and keepsakes scattered like clues. The message is clear. This is a bar that insists on experience.
At Horatio, the glass is not the destination; it is the portal.
