Louise Hill's mixed-media artistry beautifully intertwines photography and illustrations, celebrating Singapore's architectural gems while reflecting her personal journey through vibrant colours and complex details
-
Mixed-media artist Louise Hill’s creative journey began in the world of high-end packaging design in London, where she honed her skills during the 1990s. “My work at that time was very much of a British Heritage style,” she recalls. The transition to mixed media came when she moved to Hong Kong in 2010 and to Singapore in 2014. “Since then, I’ve been translating my detailed and intricate style once used on three-dimensional packaging to two-dimensional flat artwork ,” she shares.
Today, Hill combines photography and illustrations, layering hundreds of images to create her final artwork. Her pieces are printed as archival fine-art prints, with limited editions featuring hand-finished details in inks or metallic gold leaf, adding a luxurious touch.
Her limited-edition prints have become sought-after collectibles, with clients appreciating their unique character and intricate details. “These pieces are not just art; they are a way to connect with the culture and history of the places I’ve lived in,” she explains, making her works a perfect fit for people looking to enhance their homes with a touch of local flavour and artistic elegance.
