FOREVER HOME

A family in Newport Beach, California, gets help from a local interior designer for an indoor-outdoor living room with ample seating areas and cues from the coastal surroundings.

When designing a gathering space for a family of four in Newport Beach, California, interior designer Laura Brophy, founder of the eponymous local design firm, decided to go big. “The goal was to design a home that would inspire and enable our clients to live their best lives,” says Brophy. “This was a repeat client [who happens to be an accomplished developer] who was building his ‘forever home’ for himself, his wife, and two teenage sons, and eventually the next generation of his family.”
