At Moire, textiles evolve beyond ornamentation to become architecture

Some projects begin with drawings.

This one began with a swatch. In Bengaluru's evolving landscape of experiential retail, Moire, a 1,000 sq ft textile boutique designed by Studio Ipsa, fabric takes centre stage as a design protagonist. “The brief emphasised that the products had to be the hero,” share founders Sonal Mutha and Aniketh Bafna. Taking that cue, the material palette was led with the fabrics themselves, letting them form doorways, arches, walls, and even lighting.
