At its simplest, a hygge kitchen is a warm and cosy space that invites congregation and is soothing to be in. Apoorva Shroff, though, looks at hygge by investigating happiness itself a little further. "When you think about what makes one happy, the idea revolves around embodying elements that ease your way of living and add utmost comfort," she says. For the founder and principal designer at Lyth Design, a Mumbai-based boutique design studio, hygge is all about turning the kitchen into the epicentre of maximum efficiency and comfort. "A kitchen that accommodates maximum storage, houses necessary appliances, and exudes an aesthetic that resonates with your personality while remaining cognisant of functional dexterity, makes for a quintessential hygge kitchen setting," she adds.
