THE MORE THE MERRIER

Neptune's Christmas collection takes its cue from the joy of gathering, with decorations that feel both nostalgic and finely crafted.

Hand-blown glass bells, felt animals and beaded wool stars recall traditions passed down through generations, while Yuletide linens and crystal coupes set the mood for festive entertaining. A pre-lit Windsor tree, £795, handwoven skirt and pine, clove and winter berry scents complete the scene. For extra furniture, the Ophelia footstool, £1,295, and Thornbury side table, £195, are welcome additions.

Winter gatherings

Petersham Nurseries in Richmond ushers in the festive season with a programme of workshops and celebrations. Christmas Calligraphy with resident calligrapher Kate Ridyard takes place on 19 November, £70, followed by Festive Tablescaping later in the month and Festive Flower Arranging in December. For green-fingered enthusiasts, Wreath Making Workshops run throughout November and December. On 3 December, the much-loved shopping and carols evening returns, with beautiful foraged displays, handmade gifts, mulled wine and mince pies beneath a magical canopy of fairy lights.

ROOM TO GLOW

Hand-built in stoneware by ceramicist Lizzie Richards of Bonfire Workshop, the Poppy candle sconce, £95, was created in collaboration with Lamp LDN. Drawing on her background in textiles, Lizzie translates antique embroidery and botanical patterns into a poppy motif, framed by thumbprint edging. Designed to hold a candle and hang on the wall, they are objects to be both used and admired.
