Why do we keep LGDs as a separate category in our store? Well, there are many reasons. The emergence of lab-grown diamonds in the jewellery market has sparked a significant shift in consumer preferences and industry practices. As more consumers become aware of the ethical, environmental, and cost advantages of lab-grown diamonds, jewellery stores have recognised the importance of offering them as another category, alongside natural diamonds. This decision reflects a response to evolving consumer values, technological advancements, and sustainability concerns within the jewellery industry.
WHY LGDS ARE STOCKED AS A SEPARATE CATEGORY
One of the primary reasons for including lab-grown diamonds as a distinct category in jewellery stores is the growing demand for ethical and sustainable products. Unlike natural diamonds, often associated with ethical concerns, such as human rights violations and environmental degradation, labgrown diamonds are produced in controlled laboratory environments with minimal environmental impact, and without exploitative labour practices.
As consumers become more socially and environmentally conscious, they increasingly seek products that align with their values. By offering lab-grown diamonds, jewellery stores can cater to this market segment and demonstrate their commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainability.
