DESIGN THAT ANTICIPATES TOMORROW

At the LA Solitaire showroom, designed by architect Arun Sharma, architecture and jewellery converge into a seamless narrative.

DESIGN THAT ANTICIPATES TOMORROW

Architect Arun Sharma, Principal Architect of Atrey & Associates, has dedicated his practice to crafting designs that are rooted in nature while embracing innovation. With over two decades of experience, his philosophy is simple: Architecture must speak to the soul, remain timeless, and respect the earth. Known for blending luxury with sustainability, his projects have received global acclaim, cementing his position as one of India’s leading contemporary architects.

CONCEPT AND INSPIRATION

The client once posed a thought-provoking question: “Where do diamonds and gold truly come from?”The answer was clear — from the mines. That question sparked the design's foundation. If diamonds and gold originate deep within the earth, why shouldn't the architecture of the showroom reflect this? The walls were conceived as folded surfaces, echoing the rugged, layered contours of underground formations. These folds were not merely structural elements, but narrative devices, creating niches for the jewellery to be displayed. Thus, the showroom tells a complete story—from the raw depths of the earth, represented in its walls and textures, to the gleaming final pieces showcased within its folds. The space captures the entire journey of a jewel: from its origin to its brilliance.
