Set against the backdrop of modernday Istanbul, BBC2 crime drama The Turkish Detective stars Haluk Bilginer (EastEnders' Mehmet Osman in the 1980s) as homicide detective Çetin Ikmen, a maverick cop with some offbeat methods of solving murders! The eight-parter opens with the killing of 19-year-old student Gozde Seren, who has links to Istanbul's wealthy elite.
