JANE SEYMOUR on why she's thrilled to be returning as the literary detective
HARRY WILD NEW FROM HOL MON, ACORN TV DRAMA (FIRST TWO EPS FROM HOL MON, THEN WEEKLY)
Incredibly, it’s been more than 50 years since Jane Seymour burst on to the international scene opposite Roger Moore in the 1973 James Bond movie Live and Let Die - and she’s never left. Roles in miniseries such as World War Two-set War and Remembrance (1988-1989) and six seasons headlining Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman in the 1990s have made her a firm favourite with viewers.
And for the past three years, the Golden Globe-winning actor has been entertaining us in Acorn TV’s mystery series Harry Wild.
This week, Jane returns as literary professor turned private detective Harriet 'Harry' Wild in a fourth series of the Ireland-set drama. Also back is Rohan Nedd as Fergus Reid, Harry's partner in the Wild/Reid Detective Agency, along with Kevin Ryan as Harry's police-officer son Charlie and Rose O'Neill as Lola, Harry's granddaughter.
Here, in an exclusive interview, the always lovely Jane, 74, tells TV Times what to expect from the latest six-part run...
What do you like most about playing Harry?
She’s fervently independent and insists on being right, which she usually is! Harry is amusing, funny and fearless, with a bit of a bad-girl streak. She's not afraid to go into different worlds and she’s excited about having something new and different in her life.
Do you share any traits with her?Yes, I love my kids and grandchildren. I'm fascinated by history and literature. I'm not a snob and I'm always interested in why people make the choices that they do.
Why does Harry’s partnership with Fergus work so well?
