After exploring land masses off the British, Australian and American coasts, as well as through the Pacific, Martin Clunes is delighted to be island-hopping again, this time across the Atlantic, for a new ITV1 docuseries.

‘We have a human fascination with islands, and I feel gratitude for the things I've been fortunate to see,’ shares the always friendly actor, 63, as he joins TV Times for an exclusive chat about Islands of the Atlantic. ‘It’s not like being a tourist – even though I am one – because you get access no holidaymaker could ever get.’ The three-parter sees the Doc Martin star take in some remarkable sights as he showcases the culture, landscape and wildlife of various isles dotted across the ocean's 30 million square miles, from tropical equatorial paradises to barren ice sheets.
