Nisha Katona can’t believe her luck landing her own culinary showcase on ITV1.

Having not long stepped down as a judge on BBC2’s Great British Menu to reassess her work-life balance, the chef and restaurateur is now inviting viewers to her smallholding in the Wirral countryside where she will share recipes inspired by her family, her Indian heritage and her northern roots for five-part Saturday-morning series Nisha Katona’s Home Kitchen.

‘It’s warm-bath TV,’ smiles Nisha, 53, in an exclusive interview with TV Times. ‘It’s just watching an ordinary home cook creating delicious dishes in a setting where there are birds singing, goats bleating and horses neighing. And I want people to think, “I could cook that!”’
