JACK FARTHING on his joy at starring in an Agatha Christie whodunnit

Man of MYSTERY

TOWARDS ZERO

SUNDAY, 9PM, BBC1 DRAMA

As villainous George Warleggan in BBC1’s hit period saga Poldark, Jack Farthing was embroiled in all manner of ruthless schemes. Now, the actor is at the centre of more dangerous intrigue in 1930s-set crime drama Towards Zero.

BBC1’s lavish three-part reworking of Agatha Christie’s 1944 novel sees Jack play enigmatic Thomas Royde, who, in last week’s opener, returned to Gull’s Point, the Devonshire home of his aunt, Lady Tressilian (Anjelica Huston), after years in Malaya running a rubber plantation.

His arrival has proved less than welcome, however, and, as the series continues, he begs Lady Tressilian for money and threatens to expose a secret from the family’s past, while tensions also increase with his cousin Nevile (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). But when a killer strikes, where will suspicions fall?

Here, Jack, 39, reveals why we are set to be on the edge of our seats…
