Jennifer Lopez plays an assassin who comes out of hiding to save her daughter

She may be the queen of romcoms, but Jennifer Lopez has clearly got a taste for adventure these days. Seen recently as a gun-wielding bride-to-be in action comedy Shotgun Wedding, the Hollywood icon is back firing bullets this week in new Netflix thriller The Mother.

The 53-year-old plays the film's title character, a female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up at birth.
