COMEDY Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Jon Hamm) could belong to the same country club as The White Lotus’s Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs): They’re successful, affluent men whose ships have already sailed into the currents of middle age—and now they’re both about to sink and drown in disgrace. But Coop, a hedge-fund wizard fired for a one-night stand with a coworker and still smarting from the collapse of his marriage to Mel (Amanda Peet), is never so desperate that he despairs. Unlike poor Timothy, he doesn’t indulge in morbid dreams of killing his entire family. Instead, unemployed and cash-strapped, he assesses his situation and hits on a fix.
