4 large eggs, separated

Pinch of salt

1 cup plus ½ cup granulated sugar, divided

1 tsp. vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste

2 tsp. apple cider vinegar

2 tsp. cornstarch

2 cups (7½ oz.) fresh cranberries

¾ cup water

¼ cup butter, cubed

Whipped cream, sugared cranberries and fresh mint leaves (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 200°. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
