Ali Larter will turn 50 in February, and it’s a milestone she’s ready for. “Turning 30 was a lot harder than getting ready to turn 50. You ease into yourself with age, which is a gift,” she says. “When I look at my friends in their 50s and 60s, they’re in their power. That is where I’m going.”

The New Jersey-born actress—who first broke out as Paul Walker’s girlfriend in Varsity Blues (1999) and Reese Witherspoon’s first legal client in Legally Blonde (2001)—is feeling refreshed after six weeks at home with her husband, actor Hayes MacArthur, 48, and their kids—Teddy, 14, and Vivienne, 10—in the Sun Valley, Idaho, mountainside retreat they built in 2022. “It’s just magic,” Larter says of their sprawling estate. “When I lived in L.A., there were so many demands that came on top of being an actor. It’s incredibly calming and grounding to live in the mountains, and we love raising our children in a rural, small town.”
