DRIVEN TO SUCCEED

Born to doctor parents, it's no surprise that Mumbai-based Dr Yash Chede, now 24, followed in their footsteps and pursued his MBBS degree. However, as a hyperactive child with boundless energy, academics had never caught his interest in the early years. It was only after standard 8 that there came a gradual shift in his interests, and he went on to score 90% in his 10th board exams. Side by side, he also led his school to its first-ever football trophy and earned the title of Best Football Player. Passionate about playing football, he planned to go abroad for the sport post-12th, but decided to appear for NEET UG just for the sake of it. Quite unexpectedly, he scored 550 in the exam, securing a seat in a government medical college. Aside from academics and sports, Yash also amassed 50,000 followers on TikTok with his content ranging from dance to fun skits!

Settling into MBBS life didn't come without its own challenges, but Yash held his own, also finding inspiration in fellow doctor-creators. Eventually, he created his own health and lifestyle page, combining his medical knowledge with his creative instincts. Today, he helps make healthcare approachable for a broad audience, demystifying medical concepts and promoting wellness.

EXCERPTS FROM AN INTERVIEW...

"If I had to pick one defining moment of my life, it would be the day I received my MBBS degree. It wasn't just a certificate, it was years of hard work, self-doubt, and perseverance coming full circle. Seeing tears of joy roll down my parents' eyes at that moment made me realise that every late night and every setback had been worth it.
