NATURAL STUPIDITY V/S ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Is one growing because of the other?

I got an interesting WhatsApp forward today that said, “Two biggest challenges that our world is facing—Natural Stupidity and Artificial Intelligence.”

Whoever wrote this, and I hope not ChatGPT, was spot on.

But, my worry is not that both are growing at a rapid rate, my worry is that one is growing at the cost of the other.

Is natural stupidity increasing because of artificial intelligence, or is artificial intelligence on the rise because of natural stupidity?

There was a time in our lives when we aspired to live naturally — to grow our own fruits and veggies, to eat meals prepared from scratch...

Why then in work and education are we extolling the exact opposite?

Why have we, as thinking feeling intelligent human beings, happily handed over our lives and thoughts to ChatGPT?

Have we lost the intelligence to manage them ourselves?

Or, do we simply not trust ourselves to come up with new and authentic ideas of our own?

Worse still, have we become incapable of decision-making, an important component of intelligence?

As a writer, I had always prided myself on hardly ever using an AI tool. Only recently have I started using the free version of Grammarly.
