IT'S OVER!

After less than two years of marriage, a fed-up Ben Affleck is calling it quits with his fame-addicted wife, Jennifer Lopez

It was her big night. “I’m the host,” Jennifer Lopez — glowing in a golden Schiaparelli gown — said to the camera in a May 6 video from the Met Gala in NYC, which she co-chaired. “Welcome to my party.”

But all anyone could ask was why she didn’t have a date. Her husband, Ben Affleck, “was a no-show,” says a source, with the official excuse being that he was back in LA filming the sequel to The Accountant (even though he did manage to sneak away from work for son Samuel’s basketball game in LA the next day). “The writing is on the wall — it’s over,” a source tells In Touch in a world exclusive of the pair, who tied the knot nearly two years ago after calling off their first planned wedding back in 2004. But since then, constant clashes over her self-obsession and concerns about maintaining his sobriety have “pushed Ben to the breaking point,” says the source. “They’re headed for a divorce — and, for once, he’s not to blame!”

REPEATING THE PAST

Neither of them expected to get to this point. “They waited almost two decades to get back together, but in the end, they just couldn’t make it work,” says the source. “They both said they’d matured and learned from their mistakes, but some of the bigger issues that tore them apart the first time remained the same.”
