Thirteen years ago, Australia met Dami Imthe then 24-year-old who walked onto the X Factor stage, sang Mariah Carey's 'Hero' and went on to take out the competition. Since then, she's built a steady music career - representing Australia in Eurovision and releasing a string of albums - and, in recent years, has started a family.

Now 37, she's just released six-track EP Stormy Weather, a collection of songs that represent the "tumultuous" times in life that she tells WHO are "a bit like the Queensland weather". "Sometimes it's pouring, a cyclone, craziness, and then suddenly it's sunshine," Im explains.

What are your nerves like before a release?

I always feel a bit nervous and vulnerable before each release, that's just how it is. But this time around, I found myself feeling even more insecure and so nervous. I asked myself why, and I think it's because of two things. First, it's sort of a new genre in a way.

Even though I've done jazz pop before, it just feels like a new chapter for me.
