These celebs are using their platforms for the betterment of humankind
STEPHEN & AYESHA CURRY
The NBA star and the entrepreneur launched Eat. Learn. Play. in 2019 in Oakland, Calif., providing children with nutritious meals, reading resources and activities to promote physical well-being. "These kids deserve the opportunity to achieve their full potential," Stephen said in early October. "[We're] trying to do our part in a meaningful way."
SETH & LAUREN ROGEN
The Rogens were inspired to start Hilarity for Charity in 2012 after Lauren's mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at just 55. Since then, they've raised millions to provide free, quality in-home care to families in need. "We've steadily expanded to provide an ecosystem of support for people caring for someone with dementia," Seth tells Us. "And we still throw our signature comedy events! Maintaining a sense of light and levity in the face of such a dark disease is an important tenet of our mission." Lauren adds: "We meet so many people who tell us how our grants or other programs have helped them. We've found community in HFC too- and so much hope."
Nicole Richie
Richie's on the board of directors for Baby2Baby, a nonprofit that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and basic necessities. As of 2023, they've distributed over 350,000 items to kids in need. "[Giving back] is very important," Richie has said. "The way that I was raised, it wasn't even an option. It was just a responsibility that you had."
