Gigantic horse rescued from soupy sinkhole

LUCKY the horse is lucky to be alive — the 1,200-pound Paso Fino mare was miraculously rescued after plunging into a sinkhole that swallowed her in a prison of mud and muck up to her neck!

More than 60 Los Angeles firefighters, Animal Services staffers and sanitation workers rushed to the flanks of the flailing 20-year-old steed and gingerly dug her out with shovels and an excavator.
