Squeezed by beef prices & fewer fries as sales slump

FAST-FOOD giant McDonald's has a beef with the suppliers of their burgers and fries.

The drive-in king has clobbered nine major meat suppliers in a New York District Court, accusing them of conspiring to manipulate and fix beef prices since 2015 The suppliers include big names like Tyson Foods, JBS and Cargill and control nearly the entire meat market, say McDonald's lawyers.

In 2018, the nine suppliers sold a whopping 80 percent of the more than 25 million pounds of beef used in the U.S., says the lawsuit.
