TAINTED newsman Brian Williams is itching to make a return to MSNBC, seeing himself as a savior who can rescue the floundering network despite his checkered past, say sources.

As National ENQUIRER readers well know, Williams, 65, reigned as the top anchor at NBC Nightly News from 2004 to 2015 before suffering a shocking downfall. He was summarily suspended for lying about his experience during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, falsely claiming he had been in a helicopter hit by enemy fire.
