GLP-1 SLIMS CHANCES OF CANCER

WEIGHT-LOSS drugs don’t just help patients drop pounds and control their diabetes — they may also help slow the progression of several types of cancer, including lung, breast, colorectal and liver cancer.

A new study, which involved scientists from across the globe, compared the effects of GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound with a different class of diabetes drugs, known as DPP-4 inhibitors, or gliptins.

Sold under brand names including Januvia, Zituvio and Tradjenta, gliptins improve how your body uses insulin, which then lowers your blood sugar levels.
