Jamie Lee Curtis opens up about her close friendship with Lindsay Lohan as the pair reunite for long-awaited Freaky Friday sequel

They became great friends when they switched bodies in the 2003 hit comedy Freaky Friday – and now Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are doing it all over again.

The pair have reunited for a sequel, Freakier Friday, more than 20 years after they first played Tess and her daughter, Anna, who swap bodies and experience one another's lives.

And Jamie, 66, couldn't be more delighted to be teaming up again with Lindsay, 39, for the new film. The stars have remained close, and when Lindsay welcomed her first child in 2023, Jamie wrote on Instagram: "My movie daughter has just made me a movie grandmother."

The following year, she achieved a career high when she won her first Academy Award, named Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

In Freakier Friday, Jamie is again switching bodies with a teenager, this time played by Sophia Hammons. Here, the actress talks about her bond with Lindsay and the long wait for the sequel.
