Angela Bassett is thrilled to see her daughter enter high society at Le Bal des Débutantes

They looked like naturals in white tie and ballgowns, but one guest at the glittering Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris needed a little assistance for his debut in high society.

Slater Vance, who accompanied his sister, Bronwyn, and their parents, Angela Bassett and Courtney B Vance, to the ball, later posted images on Instagram giving a charming insight into what went on behind the scenes at the high-society event.

One photograph - taken at the Shangri-La Paris hotel, where the event was held - shows Bronwyn and her fellow debutante Eirini Zarifi adjusting Slater's bow tie.
