FIGHTING FOR A BETTER WORLD

The Prince of Wales's global influence continues to grow as he supports Ukrainians in Estonia and campaigns passionately for the environment in Brazil

In March, the Prince of Wales donned military fatigues to visit British troops in Estonia, at a base just 80 miles from the Russian border. In his role as colonel-in-chief of the Mercian Regiment, Prince William attended a ceremony to mark their deployment, as well as riding in a Challenger tank and watching a trench warfare exercise.

He took the opportunity to chat to soldiers during a tour of Tapa Camp's welfare centre, shop and canteen, stopping to play table football and pool.

The Prince had arrived in Estonia a day earlier to meet President Alar Karis at Kadriorg Palace in the country's capital city, Tallinn. A spokesman for Kensington Palace described it as an "important meeting to highlight the strong bilateral relationship between the UK and Estonia”.

He added: “The meeting gives His Royal Highness the opportunity to applaud Estonia's strong support for Ukraine. It is also yet another example of the Prince of Wales representing the UK at the highest level on the global stage.”
