Queen Elizabeth's beloved grandson Peter Phillips and NHS nurse Harriet Sperling reveal exclusively to HELLO! that they are to marry after dating for a year

Looking blissfully happy and gazing lovingly into each other's eyes, Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling have confirmed their engagement. The couple, who have been dating for just over a year, shared the news exclusively with HELLO! on 1 August, a few days after the King's nephew proposed.

In a statement, Peter's spokesman, Gerard Franklin, said: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their engagement.

“Both families were informed jointly and were delighted with the wonderful news. Their Majesties the King and Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales have been informed. No date has been officially set for the wedding.”
