Airbus to provide tactical defence satcom to Belgium

Airbus has announced that it has signed a contract with Belgium's Ministry of Defence to provide tactical satellite communications services for 15 years. The armed forces will utilise channels of the Airbus Ultra High Frequency (UHF) military communications hosted payload on-board a commercial telecommunications satellite manufactured by Airbus.

The company plans to launch its UHF communications service in 2024 for the armed forces of European countries and NATO allies.
