India stands at the cusp of a manufacturing revolution, driven by its IT talent and established manufacturing capabilities. The IBM Presents 5th Annual Smart Factory Summit 2025, powered by Manufacturing Today, brought together industry leaders, technology innovators, and sustainability advocates to explore the future of manufacturing in India. The summit served as a vital platform to discuss digital transformation, the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, and the balance between sustainability and digitisation.
The event commenced with the address by Sujatha Vishnuraj, Editor, Manufacturing Today. She emphasised the relevance of digital transformation in manufacturing, highlighting how India is on the "brink of a technological revolution that will shape the factories of the future."
Rahul Sequeira, Managing Director, ITP Media India, emphasised the significance of the Smart Factory Summit in his welcome address as a platform where vision and innovation converge to shape the future of Indian manufacturing. He said, “We are at the convergence of AI, IoT, robotics, and data analytics – just to name a few innovations in our country.”
