After pioneering the World's first single-vessel beating-heart TECAB surgeries in the United States, Dr. Sudhir Prem Srivastava could have chosen to remain a celebrated global surgeon. But his dream was larger. On operating tables from Texas to Chicago, he kept asking a deceptively simple question, And then spent a lifetime building the technology and training the talent to make the answer “it shouldn't.”

A GLOBAL DREAM REALIZED IN INDIA

For Dr. Srivastava, operating room excellence was a milestone on the way to something far greater. A haunting encounter in his homeland, India, with the brother of a 22-year-old woman who needed cardiac surgery but couldn't afford the ₹4 lakh cost, crystallized his mission.

What Dr. Srivastava envisioned was nothing short of a medical revolution, transforming India from a market dependent on expensive foreign robotic systems to a nation pioneering its own world-class, affordable surgical robotics. Returning to India in 2011 with decades of global expertise, he didn't just want to practice advanced surgery; he wanted to democratize it.

MANTRA: MADE IN INDIA, FOR THE WORLD

With a bold vision and the willingness to risk everything, Dr. Srivastava invested his own savings, time, and life's work into building technology that India could call its own. The result was the SSI Mantra, the nation’s first indigenously developed surgical robotic platform, designed to be modular, versatile, and affordable.
