GROWTH PRE-ENGINEERED
Construction Week
|August 2025
India's pre-engineered building (PEB) segment is witnessing a large-scale adoption, led by need for speed, sustainability, digital advancements, and industrial growth.
-
It's a commonly held belief in business that a solution may deliver upon only one or two of these three promises—fast, cheap, and good—but rarely all three. However, the construction method of pre-engineered building (PEB) is perhaps that exception which proves the rule.
With businesses looking for faster project rollouts without compromising on their profitability goals, adoption of PEB has been on the rise. PEBs, with their factory-fabricated components and modular designs, are becoming integral to India's evolving built environment, addressing business needs across sectors.
By leveraging offsite fabrication, PEBs reduce onsite labour requirements and construction timelines, making them ideal for time-sensitive projects in urban and industrial settings. PEBs also offer substantial, 20% to 30% cost savings compared to the traditional reinforced cement concrete structures, particularly for large-span facilities like warehouses and factories. As a result, the demand for PEBs has been steadily on the rise in India.
According to a study by IMARC Group, India's PEB market, valued at $2.01 billion in 2024, is projected to hit $6.33 billion by 2033, growing at a 12.5% rate year-on-year. This growth is driven by rapid urbanisation, infrastructure development, and a rising demand for cost-effective, sustainable construction solutions, the research firm observes.
